Leroy M. "Abby" Uplinger 93 of Penn died Monday December 25, 2017 in Hempfield Manor.  He was born October 3, 1924 in McChesesneytown a son of the late Wilmer Roy Uplinger and Goldie (Wadsworth) Uplinger.  Prior to retirement he was employed by the former Hockensmith Corp in Penn and he was a veteran of WWII serving with the US Navy.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Alice (Eagles) Uplinger, a brother Gilbert Wayne Uplinger and a niece Patricia Ford.  He is survived by a nephew Emmit Ford of Smithsfield, VA and a great nephew Eddie Ford of Grafton, VA.  Friends will be received Wednesday from 6-8 PM in the Mason-Gelder Funeral Home Inc. 201 N. First St. Jeannette.  Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:00 AM in the funeral home.  Interment will follow in Jeannette Memorial Park.  To send online condolences visit www.mason-gelder.com.
